Goyang city successfully held ‘Goyang IR-Day’

Discovery and laying the foundation for growth of excellent start-ups and venture companies


On June 29th, Goyang city held ‘Goyang IR-Day’ to foster star-ups and venture businesses in its jurisdiction at the first exhibition hall of KINTEX.

The ‘Goyang IR-Day’ is directly participated by Goyang Venture Fund operator and co-hosted with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.

The city said that the application for participation was closed on June 4th, and a total of 65 companies applied, recording a high competition ratio of 6.5:1.

30 out of 65 companies were first selected through document evaluation, and the final 10 companies were selected through an interim evaluation. The 10 companies finally selected participated in this event with the support of group training and 1:1 in-depth mentoring.


The company that won the ‘Goyang IR-Day’ on this day was

 ▲ Innovation Award: Firebuster Works(a smart sprinkler system company that innovatively suppresses fires) 

▲ Development Award: Epigen Co., Ltd. (a company that developed a urinary cancer diagnosis kit using urine)

▲ Growth Award: Cure Pharmtech Co., Ltd (a manufacturer of functional sutures for tissue regeneration using biopolymers) etc.

The three winning companies will be given an opportunity to review the investment of the Goyang Venture Fund. The seven companies that did not receive awards in the final presentation evaluation on the same day also plan to conduct one-on-one company interviews with the city to devise support measures tailored to the company and proactively manage them.


1st Deputy Mayor Lee Jae-cheol gave a welcome speech for the event, Jeong Jin-woo, head of the Corporate Support Division of the Small and Medium Business Venture Promotion Corporation, and a congratulatory speech by National Assemblyman Hong Jeong-min.

The event was followed by 10 IR pitching and networking with investors and startups invited to the event.

1st Deputy Mayor Lee Jae-cheol of Goyang city, who hosted the event said, “I think it is very encouraging that ‘IR Day’, a meeting place for start-ups and venture companies and investors, is held in Goyang city.” And “I will actively help you grow to your fullest.”


Meanwhile, large corporations interested in nurturing start-ups and ventures, such as KT m&s and Kyobo Life Insurance, attended the event. In addition, Goyang Knowledge Information Industry Promotion Agency, Construction Technology Research Institute, Northern Gyeonggi Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, Goyang Women’s Starup Support Center, Goyang Women’s Human Resources Development Center, Goyang Municipal Research Institute, Dongguk University Startup Support Group, Jungbu University Startup Support Group etc. Many start-ups and venture companies located in Goyang city also attended with great interest.
